Hot Swappin'

After a long day and night at the 2012 Grand National Roadster Show it was almost impossible to drag myself out of bed and get over to the Long Beach HiPo swap meet. In fact if Daniel with the sedan had not committed to going I would have never left my bed at 5:00am today. I also would have never scored these amazing goodies.

We all know and love the classic Moon spun aluminum 10 gallon tanks, but have you ever seen a "conjoined twin" version? Until today I had not, and now I have one in my garage. Having twice the pre designated mileage for the hot rod is a very nice upgrade.

Also, I found what appears to be a vintage sprint car throttle pedal assembly. This will go great in the 27 T lakester build!

Cross Member Madness

Well,
My trans mount cross member on the 29 pu was sucking. It was a lame design and hung down way too low. So I hacked it out today and replaced it with something a little more stout. With 3 more inches of ground clearance I shouldn't be draggin on speed bumps now.

Model T Time

Not really a big fan of the Model T pickups or Coupes, but a T roadster can be pretty rad. Take a look at this 27 touring car cut down to be a 2 man bucket. Plucked from Sammy V's back lot stash, it came with a boxed model A frame thats pretty much done, a drilled axle, and some lever shocks.
As soon as the 29 pickup is driving we'll start thrashing on this little turd.

Green With Envy

With the Grand National Roadster Show less than a week away SoCal ACES member Anthony is hot on the job prepping his 1963 1/2 Ford Falcon Hardtop for entry into the Suede Palace.

Having the entire car on jacks he took his wheels over to the wheel shop to have the old school shaved white walls mounted. Removed the front bumper and grille and ran them to the chrome shop. After a few weeks and a few bucks they came back smooth and shiny. Next up is to clean and shine as much as possible before rolling into his space later this week.

Keep checking back for more updates. We should have some pics and info on Mickeys 34 Plymouth Coupe which is also rolling into the Suede Palace for this years GNRS.

Long Lost Ponies

I'll argue the "carbon footprint" theory any day.

Wild Card

Not an ACE, but a good dude and a friend of mine. Daniel is making good progress on his 29 Tudor sedan while he's not helping me with my 29 pick up. Keep a look out for this full fendered y block powered rod to be finished sooner than later.
